  1. Offline edits should work as they always have. Just make sure the host in the client/resources/config.xml and editor/resources/config.xml are both set to localhost. Make sure the port number in client/resources/config.xml, editor/resources/config.xml, and server/resources/config.xml are all 5400. Even completely offline such as in the case where your PC doesn't have a wifi card or an ethernet (internet) cable attached you should be able to edit and play your game. Edit: We fully intend to always allow offline editing. If offline editing ever breaks we will move heaven and hell to make it work again
  2. Look up how to insert your new rule into the top of your IPTABLES list. It does you no good if you add the rule at the bottom to accept if there is a rule above it saying to deny.
  3. As of Beta 4 we are using UDP instead of TCP
  4. UPnP can communicate with your router to open ports. In this case it doesn't seem like you have a router firewall to deal with so you can ignore all UPnP messages. (That really only benefits home users) That said you still have IPTABLES or some other firewall on the server itself you will need to work though just like on Windows you'd allow Intersect to be communicated with through Windows firewall. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24729024/centos-7-open-firewall-port That might give you a hint at where to start. Edit: Please note we are now using UDP instead of TCP when dealing with port forwarding.

      In other news, with 1/3 the team and twice the amount of planned features, Atlas will be done by the end of the year! It will demolish our development time by a whopping 24 months!! Its truly spectacular given the 7 months without updated screenshots or progress updates of any kind. 

       

      I was hoping for competition but from what I've been told we're about to get steamrolled. AGD is already waving the white flag.  Intersect is going the way of the Exchange!

      Atlas actually being released would be sweet - we'd love the competition and that'd make both engines better - but as it stands Atlas is nothing more than a design concept.

       

      A concept allows everyone to create unusually high expectations for the engine which is compounded over months and months without news or updates. (Of course there are no bugs, there can't be any without a release!)

       

      At the end of the day Atlas news and updates no matter how small would only benefit Eclipse, more people would gain interest in the engine and participate in their community thus building value in both. The total lack of updates should scare everyone as there is no incentive to stay quiet unless, of course, there is nothing to show.

       

      At the end of the day there is no way that we could ever compete with your wildest dreams. Let's wait until Atlas has a release, then we can start realistically doing side by side comparisons.

  7. Intersect Beta 4.1 Released! August 20th 2017 News/Updates Due to an expected influx of bugs in the Beta 4 release we will likely have a Beta 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3. I just released 4.1 with general bug fixes to fix minor problems plaguing Beta 4. Problems fixed: Tile transparency issues (50%) Map grid not rendering Item, Npc, Class, Etc Editor bugs when renaming game objects Switch/Variable editor not working Attack animations not appearing in the right location Slower than expected network speeds Item Animations not displaying and more! Download If you are already using Beta 4 just download 4.1 and extract that archive in place of your current game. If you are currently using Intersect Beta 3 (or 3.1) click upgrade below!   8. Base damage of your sword does not stack on top of your classes base damage. Probably why you are experiencing difficulties.
  9. Search InGame.xml for EquipmentContainer. Change <Bounds>5,144,201,38</Bounds> The values are X, Y, Width, and Height. Adding ~20 to the height should get the scrollbar where you want it.

  11. No. RPG maker graphics can only be used in RPG maker. No exceptions.
  12. The scaling values in Beta 3/3.1 were not being recorded correctly in the editor making npcs stronger than they should be. That was just a fixed bug. Faster networking is us switching to the Lidgren library over System.Net.TcpClient -- @pandacoder can elaborate. This version is actually a lot more buggy than expected. We will get a patch version out ASAP. Use at your own risk, it still mostly works Edit @Raku: Animated sprites were also added in Beta 4, open your Server/Resources/Config.xml and add a line like this in the <Misc></Misc> section <AnimatedSprites>1.png,2.png,bat.png</AnimatedSprites>
  13. This is now an option in Beta 4. Simply open your Server/Resources/Colors.xml file and you can edit the ChatBubbleTextColor line to set the chat bubble text color to whatever you want.

  15. Intersect Beta 4 Released! August 19th 2017 News/Updates Friends list, chat channels, automatic port forwarding, xp style autotiles, faster networking, dynamic ui, multiple character support, fixed combat, custom credits, keybindings, spell effects hud, paperdoll rendering within the ui, and more is included in this update. This is a big one, and we're happy we finally have it ready for everybody. For more information about each specific update see the following dev logs: Dynamic UI In Beta 4 there are 2 xml files in your Client/Resources/GUI folder. You can edit these xml files (MainMenu.xml, InGame.xml) to resize, reposition, hide, or otherwise modify UI elements in your game. You have full control over fonts, text sizes, colors, button locations, and a lot more. I will be working on some official documentation on how to modify these xml files over the course of the next few weeks. The Future This is possibly the biggest update we've ever released. As such we expect plenty of bugs to manifest for you all. We will quickly follow up with Beta 4.1 as we fix the early and most annoying bugs you find. Beta 5 will have a lot of smaller quality of life changes. Beta 6 will likely be the last Beta release.   17. I think a lot of people are misunderstanding the point of this thread. @jesusbleach correct me if I am, too. I think he is trying to code his own game/engine to expand on his general programming, XNA, and networking experience and he just wants opinions on which style game he should create between a fighter, platformer mmo, top down mmo like intersect, or moba.
  18. @Skaveron nailed it. We have no plans to add this now, or in the future but as soon as source is released this wouldn't be hard for individuals to add to their games.
  19. Beta 4 has grown into a massive beast, I really think you all will like all the updates coming your way. I have 1-2 more bugs to fix and then we are going to sit back and just test Beta 4 a little as we prep for its release
  20. Best solution is to wait until source is out and actually code it. Would be 100x quicker. If it's imperative that you get this done sooner rather than later then stay the course.

  24. Hey everyone, Sorry for the delay but I wanted to wrap this up and kinda voice our thoughts as we welcome @Gibier as our newest moderator here at AGD. We'd really like to thank, @Murdoc, @SkywardRiver and @Zetasis for giving this a try. Unfortunately @Murdoc had to withdraw from contention due to lack of availability. Everyone else did a fantastic job, but we really felt that @Gibier was consistently the most active here at AGD. More importantly, we saw that @Gibier was often going out of his way to provide support and answer questions for our new members at AGD and we loved to see that.
