Download OBS, or anything to record your screen. Start with an empty map. Record as you make the map from start to finish, then we speed up the video to 100x+, turn it into a gif, and use it for advertising purposes

But did you make a timelapse!?

They'd be usable, sure. But Legal? I have no idea.

The default graphics are technically Macks. Everyone at the RPG Maker Community would swear up and down that they are safe to use outside RPG Maker. (I've asked, then mods deleted my thread) Macks graphics were released under a free to use commercial license. But I don't think anyone could argue that there are some very close parallels with the RPG Maker RTP, so we recommend finding alternatives. It's a judgement call. I am personally so conflicted over those graphics that I've been working with several artists here to create a new graphic pack, it's not complete yet, but you're free to use it now and more info will be released publicly soon: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B9ZwewpngPoteS1HYXQ2S2YycWM?usp=sharing As for 4.3 we have no estimated release date. There is, however, a server with that bug fixed SOMEWHERE in our bug section. (I had someone reporting the bug test the fix.) I can't find the fixed link right now but I know it's in there. Hurting / killing entities (Player or NPC)
jcsnider replied to pLeet's question in Questions & Answers
Not yet. We will likely add some sort of traps in the future. Eventing might be difficult as events require players to attach to by design. We shall see. -
Common events semi broken in 4.2. If this isn't the first common event in the common event list then it won't launch. Fix coming in 4.3

Great question. We still have to put some thought into this. Random thoughts, but not set in stone.

New Intersect Website [WIP]: I've always wanted a website that could act as an information database about Intersect. Some of the goals for a new website are outlined below: News/Updates could easily be found/absorbed. Offer a long page quickly explaining all of the engine features Have a full set of documentation on how to use every aspect of the engine Pages where we can share resources that developers can use in their games Finally, a showcase games created by our members that we can promote I've been sharing links in the shoutbox over the past couple of days, but now that the site is starting to come together I wanted to show it off, accept some new ideas and constructive criticism. The following pages are (mostly done): Home News About Features Multiplayer Features Traditional RPG Elements Highly Customizable Immersive Effects User Friendliness Everything Else! Resources Games Licensing Downloads Todo: Clean up design, fill in missing media. The new site is now live and can be found at its official home: https://www.freemmorpgmaker.com

The exact license remains undecided. Regardless it will be free for commercial use, credit required to the authors in the text document (although I need to change the entry for QuoteFox when I'm at my PC next to include characters) Only question is whether selling modifications of these graphics will be allowed. That will most likely be prohibited. Edit: For a few things I need to discuss with authors directly. Here's the source for the chat bubbles: https://www.ascensiongamedev.com/community/topic/740-small-fantasy-resources-free-to-use-discontinued/?tab=comments#comment-13422 This is one of the biggest reasons why the graphics haven't been officially released yet.

You can access them now! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B9ZwewpngPoteS1HYXQ2S2YycWM?usp=sharing We haven't had an official release, still collecting a few new things and working out some quirks, but if they'll help you or your project then enjoy!

Concept Give us your opinion - Style & Genres
jcsnider replied to pLeet's topic in Design & Creativity
Don't care about genre. Give me a good story and some freedom to make my own choices. Allow my choices to impact the story even in small ways. Allow me to steadily progress in that story. Dont force me to deviate from my story to grind skills I don't care about. Have other stories waiting for me if I get tired or complete the one I'm on. Again, I don't care about genre, but if I lose interest in the storylines or if the game starts to feel more like a job or a chore then you'll lose me forever. Make more Skyrims and less Runescapes! -

Definitely don't follow this kid. His content feed is where people go to die.

It shouldn't be spamming every 5 seconds. More like every few minutes. While this text is good for us devs we can see how it can be annoying. We will add an option to hide the message in future versions of Intersect.

Ummm... the engine? the caster? you? your pet? your mom? donald trump? Can't help without knowing what's actually going on.

Can only read 4 frames until the source is released. There are converters to convert 3 frame to 4 frame in our downloads hub. No size limit, but the hit box will always be 32x32, so you can't make monsters too large else they just won't function correctly.

Gibby failed me XD Updated the descriptions. Thanks @Sethis

You can change the color for ALL event text within your whole entire game, but not individual words/phrases/conversations. (As of now) To change the color for all instances open: Client/Resources/GUI/InGame.Xml Find: <EventDialogLabel> and change the following below it <TextColor>255,255,255,255</TextColor> There should be 4 <EventDialogLabel> objects to change the text color on.

This is a bug. Made a report for us to tackle for Beta 4.3 https://www.ascensiongamedev.com/community/bug_tracker/intersect/players-not-saving-when-server-is-closed-r819/

Awesome. So the best way to keep backups is just to occasionally backup your "Client and Editor" and "Server" folders, store them somewhere labeled with the date they were backed up. There are tools you can install to do backups for you but nothing built in at the moment. Have fun!

Client/Languages/Client.English.xml Game name should be near the top.
