Given the state games tend to release in nowadays, I'm not sure that's a given.

You're right about that. The Dash 2.0 skill is more of a fleeing / repositioning skill. Normal melee will be pretty much useless in the game too, almost immediately will you get skills that fire projectiles or AoE spells instead of your normal 'E' to attack. 

 

There is also a skill that lets you warp right behind your target, so there are ways to get back in range quickly!

The trail is hardcoded but adapts to your transformation and paperdolls of course!
