  1. 30+ people? All active and from around the world?
  2. @2DMashery we don't really know. Everything is fairly instant in general, you see people walking around, talking, fighting, etc in real time. As far as stress testing though it isn't something that we've done. @lurv has been streaming development of his game recently. You can see it get upwards of 10 people online at a time. Sometimes there are problems and sometimes it's fine. I am working closely with him to fix any bottlenecks that exist. I can't tell you for sure at the moment if the engine can support 30+ people online at a time. I can say though that it will be able to before we get to the final release
  3. There was an engine a lonnnnng time ago called the Chaos Engine that had all of those features. The site for the engine is still up but all of the download links are broken. I don't foresee you being able to find it and even if you did.. a LOT of stuff is broken in it. http://chaosdevelopment.forumco.com/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=6 I know I'm beating a dead horse but your best bet it to take an existing engine that actually works and adding in the features you want yourself or paying someone to do it for you. Regards, JC

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember: all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more. kek.

  5. Marked the best answer. This one is resolved, folks!
  6. Congratz Marsh! I actually really enjoyed Watch Dogs 1. I can't wait to get Watch Dogs 2 here in a bit
  7. Easy to do once the source is out. Not worth the time though. Anyone who steals your content won't follow through with anything. (I can't convince you of that though, it's something you learn overtime.)
  8. Yes. We will be providing a converter for every new version of Intersect (that we develop) from here on out Edit: We were going really off topic when this question was answered. Locking & Moving to the resolved sections.
  9. Happy Birthday Shoutout to my good friend and mod @Damian666!!! Be sure to harass and wish Damian well on this fine day :D

  10. Much more than just security. It also makes both code bases smaller and easier to deal with. The client may very likely be ported to other operating systems and platforms one day where the editing features won't be. There are other reasons to that are currently escaping me. Someone could in theory merge them again once the source is out. I wouldn't recommend it though.
  11. Quest Editor Complete! November 12th 2016 News/Updates Don't fret, we are still making progress around here! Let me take a quick moment to introduce our beast of a quest editor I know there will be a few questions so let me try to cover what everything does briefly. Each player will have access to a quest log. The quest log will show all active quests. If the "Show in quest log before accepting quest?" box is checked then quests will show in the quest log before they have been offered to the player or accepted. If players view the quest before they have it it will show the "Before Offer Description" which you can use to tell players where to start the quest. Similarly you can keep quests in the log after they have been completed (or not) using the "Show quest in quest log after completing quest?" checkbox. How the quest log functions is entirely up to you. The quest actions are actual events. These events will run at the start and end of the quest. You can use those events to give rewards, show dialog, warp the player and more. Here is my Quest Start event: Quest requirements have a ton of options from checking event switches to time of day: There are only 3 kinds of quest tasks but with the powerful event system that should be all you need. Whats next? For one, we gotta make events give quests to players, add the quest log, and make quests work in game. Make sure to check out the Intersect Road Map as for what features we have next planned in line! We will be working for the next several days on performance improvements, and many many bug fixes. As always, feel free to post comments and questions below! We are excited to hear your thoughts on our progress!
  12. Looking for strictly written guides. I love video tutorials but I want to those who can't speak or understand english to be able to read via translate tools That said, please continue your video series. All the extra guides help and those will be especially beneficial to those who do speak english (90%+ of our community)
  13. Just a quick reminder for everyone about this. The Discord will be closed down here in a few hours. Feel free to goof off and make sure to add friends if you want to keep in touch.
  14. Hey Everyone, We are in desperate need of some help around here. Intersect is getting closer and closer to release. We have more and more people hanging around AGD and more Intersect users. We love the attention and the activity and it only encourages us to keep working on Intersect so it can meet it's full potential and be one of the best 2d mmorpg engines available. What we really need are one or two people who can take some time to familiarize themselves with Intersect (if they aren't already) and write guides on how to use each of it's features. These guides would start from the basics such as downloading and installing the engine, then moving on to how to map, how to create and use each of the editors, how to report bugs, all the way to very complex stuff like in-game puzzles with events. My hope is to create a large library of official Intersect tutorials for the community to use as a whole and alleviate some of the common questions being asked by our newer user base. I am wanting these guides to be written on the forum, in English, with screenshots and other media to assist users as needed. I do not want video guides or a video series because that would make the guides useless to non english speaking members. Examples of what I'm looking for: Feel free to reach out to me via PM if you are interested in lending a hand. We will likely ask you to write a guide or two (for something basic) to see if you're our guy/gal. If so you will get direct Skype access to me and @Kibbelz so we can help you by answering questions as needed. Depending on your commitment, skill, and speed we are open to paying you for your work. (Maybe a few dollars per tutorial or something like that) Thanks so much! JC
  15. Outside maps are affected by Time of Day settings so setting the brightness property will have no effect. Indoor maps, however, are not affected by the Time of Day settings so the brightness property will work. You can choose if you want to use time of day or not. But if you want to use the down and dirty brightness property just set indoor to true
  16. I'm with Kassie. They should be pretty straight forward so if they're not working make a bug report with a screenshot of your config and we will look into it
  17. Maybe sometime in December? We will likely hash out the rest of the features this month and then I wanna do some major refactoring before I'm ready to support the source publically.
  18. This won't be possible until the source is released, but once it is moving everything around won't be difficult. We're almost there
  19. Spell damage will eventually scale with ability power. It currently does not. (Aka bug)

I might find myself out there a few times for job interviews at some point in the next few month. Those go well, and the drinks are on me! :)

  21. Probably but at that point you are already going beyond my Git knowledge. Tons of guides/tutorials available to get you started though. (and PS Git goes both ways.. if you make a change you want us to have you can send that change to us via Git (it's called a pull request) -- we can then evaluate your contribution and choose whether or not to add that to Intersect or not )
  22. Yeah so basically you will be able to hit a button to make a copy of Intersect in your own github account/workspace. You can then make changes. When I make changes to the main Intersect project you can pull those changes into your own workspace whenever you'd like. In the event of there being conflicts (both of us editing the same code) GitHub will tell you, and will add both your version and ours to the file. You can then open the file with a text editor and choose which version you want, or manually merge the two based on what you need. That is a really basic way of describing it. Merge conflicts can be tricky but we can help you work through them when they show up.
  23. I believe that with a republican majority in congress it will be easier for Trump to push changes through as opposed to Obama/Hillary (Democrats) fighting that republican majority. The next four years will be interesting to say the least.
  24. Hamambe had 12,000 write-in votes....
  25. I understand that this is going to be an unpopular decision but I have decided to close down the official AGD Discord server and remove the ad for it on the sidebar of our site. This decision has not been made lightly, I understand that there are about a dozen users who routinely check the discord channel or chat there and even more who have signed up while it has been available. As an owner and one of the mods here at AGD there are just too many complexities to justify keeping it around: Discord is rarely or never used for voice chat. This means 95% or more communication is shouting/text chat. We already have a shoutbox on the site. Discord is taking away from site activity and vice versa. Discord is unlinked from the forum database Membergroups are not kept in sync and have to be manually updated. Usernames are often not the same. Bans/Warnings are not carried over. Discord is completely unmoderated. No one on our admin/mod team uses Discord, and asking them to moderate the site is already too much. Trying to moderate two different shoutboxes simply isn't fair to our team and it would only be more work as the site grows. All that said we are gonna close the AGD Discord server and move on. We are going to keep it open/available for about a week and we will close it on Saturday November 12th. We are hoping that this gives our Discord users time to process this change and add friends or come up with alternate ways to contact those you'd like to stay in touch with Moving forward we encourage all of our Discord fans to keep chatting with us. The shoutbox is open 24/7 on our home page https://ascensiongamedev.com after you've been a member for 2 weeks. Best, JC
