  1. Alpha versions used DirectX for rendering. Beta versions and everything onward use OpenGL for cross platform support. You all are free to use Alpha versions but that won't make any future updated versions work on your machines :/
  2. It shouldn't matter. You should be able to handle 1000s of maps and dozens or hundreds of players depending on your hardware. Most of Beta 4 is about optimizations and performance will increase significantly after it is released.
  3. It's hard for us who only speak english to try to accommodate and assist those who don't. There are a lot of terms and phrases we use in game dev that Google Translate understandably can't work with. It's not a good situation to ask people to only speak English. It's a worse situation to send people away. This is hopefully a good middleground,, but time will tell.
  4. Yes you can post it in both, however, we ask in our primary forum you still translate or use google translator.
  5. Gracias, @Rockoman!
  6. Hi everyone! We've noticed a lot more traffic to the site recently from our non-english speaking friends. Starting now, and moving into the future we would like to offer new boards and areas where you can discuss Intersect and other game development related topics in your own languages and not just ours. Starting out we've opened up two sections for those who speak Spanish and Portuguese. If you'd like to see more feel free to comment below. We will open new sections when there is enough demand. We are actively looking for moderators for these boards. We will keep an eye on them but if you'd like to help out feel free to send us a PM. Special thanks to @Refur and @Weylon Santana for helping get these setup. All the best, JC
  7. This is a MonoGame error that we pass onto the user. It tells us that your pc or some configuration is making it so that you cannot run our client. Update your graphic drivers. Make sure you don't have LogMeIn or other remote desktop software running. (RDP breaks it too) Outside of that it's possible that your graphics can't handle the lighting/shading effects that MonoGame requires. You might be out of luck.
  8. No. Make a bug report for us? We will fix in Beta 4.
  9. If you're gonna stick around you gotta setup that profile. You are way too good at art to not have an avatar and profile background.

Lol for real. I want to see some super Rory magic.

  10. Setup 2 event pages. One which will run with no conditions (off) and another that requires a switch to be on. With your "On" event page you need to set it's animation value to an animation with lighting while the off event will not have an animation at all.
  11. Soon. .
  12. Couple weeks. No guarantees though.
  13. Please speak English or translate when posting here at AGD :)

As we see demand we will likely expand.

Starting with Spanish and Portuguese for now I believe. Let's see how it goes first :).

  14. Awesome, I didn't see/read that. Keep up the good work
  15. @Kevin: it looks really nice, but please make sure you replace those graphics before you distribute this as a game/engine. I want a resource like this to stick around for a long time without issue.

This is not a Life Forge thread. Use common sense and be careful about using copyrighted graphics in your games, especially if you ever try to get a big audience such as publishing your games on greenlight. Stay on topic. @Daxterxx if Life Forge is using any strictly copyrighted assets I'm sure Sky will want to know about it. Please shoot him a pm or provide any concrete examples in the Life Forge thread. Thanks.
  17. There is an extra step involved now. Please, please, please don't use this in large areas. Just for one bridge, or cliff at a time. Z Dimensions are resources intensive and can have some trouble with pathfinding. To make the Z Dimension options appear add this line in the maps section of the server config.xml. <ZDimensionVisible>True</ZDimensionVisible> If you enable Z Dimensions do not report any bugs saying that you are flying, or you are above trees or you cannot intersect with npcs/resources the cause of that is by being on the upper layer and not stepping on a tile to get you off.
  18. I don't know, nor do I have anyone I know to ask, nor would I believe them if I did. That is why we're doing this. The style we're going for is a lot more retro (more pixelated). We're aiming for Macks format so we can use them in place of existing Macks games/worlds. Outside of that we just like the organization Mack had. Regardless, at the end of the day we want legal, free graphics available for all (using Intersect or otherwise) commercially or not. There should be no question at the end of the day that Enterbrain has no rights to these
  19. Good read but doesn't help calm my fears. There are a ton of similarities between Macks and RMVX RTP -- even if Mack licensed his graphics as free for commercial use outside RPG Maker I think a good portion are edits as opposed to completely custom material. Before I work to get us a ton of publicity I want there to be no question in the matter over whether or not Enterbrain has any rights over the assets we're using.
  20. That was our question. It's nearly impossible to tell. Enterbrain wouldn't comment and Macks site is offline for good. We don't know the answer which is why we are playing it safe and having these made. Ill update this thread soon we actually have 3 more tilesets and other misc graphics to show off. .
  21. You all will be happy to know that along with the new /commands you can now output game time, server switches/variables, and player switches/variables once Beta 4 is released. The new commands in Beta 4 are: \hour \24hour (Shows hour in military format) \minute \second \period (AM or PM) \pv # (Player Variable) \ps # (Player Switch) \gs # (Global Switch) \gv # (Global Variable) For the switches and variables you have to follow the slash command with the id of the switch/variable you want to display. In Beta 4 the id will be shown in the switch/variable editor:
  22. Sorry.. I will clarify. By the Wikipedia definition No mention of XP gain, leveling, or any combat. That is how I, and I'd assume most of us define a RPG.
  23. Disagree. Sims is more simulation.. but Portal 2 and GTAV are totally RPGs. Sure they have different primary classifications but RPG is completely valid.
