Kibbelz Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Okay, i released a video showing how to use them however a few people are struggling to get to grips with them so I made a more detailed guide  http://www.ascensiongamedev.com/resources/filehost/26ee8039bc2df1e6d0cfa05455a7164e.mp4  Edit: Sorry for the bad quality greenrangermatt, Mcadams, italo and 7 others 9 1
Phenomenal Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 @Kibbelz Well that's cool I didn't even know intersect could do that...
Giligis Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 My question is, why couldn't you use regular blocks on the cliff, essentially wouldn't all you need to do is the z dimensions so you can't get off the bridge, and so you can walk ON it and UNDER it, or am I missing something?

Kibbelz Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 You can use regular blocks for the cliff, IÂ personally do so using those graphics for Nightmare however i wanted to give an example of different tiles where you do walk on the cliff edges. Refer to the rpg maker cliffs. Giligis 1
raeven Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Thanks for the detailed tutorial! Many developers would not even look at the question, much less post an entire video. Says a lot about your commitment to the project! Kibbelz, Justn and Giligis 3
Neeknog Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 @yeroC If you use regular blocks for cliffs there is going to be tiles that a player cannot access. So either the outer most squares inside the cliff will not be able to be walked on, or the grass surrounding the cliff below. This allows for every tile to be accessed while still blocking tiles and not allowing players to just walk off or on cliffs. So it does do more than the bridge thing. We used to overcome this problem in eclipse with the directional blocking. This is what they chose to solve this sort of issue instead. Kibbelz 1
Kibbelz Posted November 14, 2016 Author Posted November 14, 2016 @Niko we found that directional blocking was only used really for cliffs so we decided for players to just used z-dimensions. Neeknog 1
Zerinho Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 very good tutorial thanks!!! will be very necessary in completed gamesÂ

Kibbelz Posted April 11, 2017 Author Posted April 11, 2017 Typically you only use zdimensions for bridges not whole cliffs themselves.
Yanz Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I got a question, maybe a n00b question. I did the z dimension and it works ok. But how you managed to pass under the bridge when level 1 and over the bridge when level 2? I can only pass under or over, because of the Layer i put the Tiles. Â Tnx
Kibbelz Posted April 19, 2017 Author Posted April 19, 2017 Level 1 players render under fringe 1 and 2. Level 2 players only render under fringe 2. TLDR make your layer for your bridge fringe. Yanz 1
Teppy Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Does z dimension still exist? Not seeing it in Version 3
merilwen91 Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 So i put the Z-Dimensions in but for some reason I cannot walk on the tiles to go from on to the next. Am I doing something wrong?
merilwen91 Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Ok hang on I figured out on problem I did. My mistake but now the block still blocks the whole tile rather than allowing the player to walk under it? It's still confusing and I'm still learning.. I think I finally got it. Thank you. Kibbelz 1
