I think what he is asking is how does he create a map that is not connected to the world map since all the world maps are connected. I believe creating a map that does not appear on the world map is possible. Right click on the map list that is to the right on the editor and click new map. If I am correct it should create a new map the is not connected to the world map.

Okay so I tested out both melee and projectile spells and I believe you are correct. Melee spells do damage the player and enemy for some reason. It must be a bug so it will need to be reported. I also noticed that for some reason projectile spells are not working either. I couldn't seem to get them to even fire a projectile. I'll try and get ahold of Kibbelz and let him know since he is the one who programmed in the spells.

Well I can't see why it wouldn't work from the screenshots. I'll have to give it test myself and see if it's a bug. If it is you'll have to post a detailed bug. It will be a little while before I can get around to testing it though but I'll let you know as soon as I figure something out.

Hmm. Did it set the range and everything in the projectile editor? If you can post a screenshot of the projectile editor that would help also.

Post a screenshot of the spell editor information.

Just can't get enough of it.

Npcs are pretty much only for fighting. Use events for npcs that you do not want to be fight-able. You can also set events to never move as well. Also, the quest editor is not functional at the moment but you can make quests, in a way, by using events.

One thing you could do is make weapons as a projectile. Make melee weapons with a range of 1 tile and add an animation. Not the best work around but it's the only thing I could think of. Good luck.
-
I'll be sure to give it a shot myself. Seems like it would be a fun and interesting game. I can't wait to see what kind of mischief I can get into.
-
^ Like JC said you can load npcs from events.
-
I don't know why I didn't think of that. Good call Kasplant.
-
Well with the way intersect is currently setup the only way of doing this that I can think of would be with events. Even with events this might be a little tricky to do.

Bob Ross is the man and this, I feel, does true justice for his awesomeness.

I don't think I understand what the problem is. In Nightmare there are currently 144 maps last I checked, might be more, and the world screenshot seems to be alright. Maybe if a screenshot was supplied I would be able to help more. I am willing to do what I can to try and help but like I said I'm not understanding what the problem is exactly.

Thanks man but honestly I would have no idea how to make a tutorial on pixel art. The best advice I could give is to practice and take inspiration from awesome retro games. As for the tiles them selves I'll be making more for sure so once I have more to show off I'll be sure to post it here.

Update time! Alright so I made a few more tiles for the caves and worked on some scifi building/lab tiles. Now that I look at them again I guess some of the building/lab tiles could be used for a temple as well maybe. I also added some mock up sprites for the player and npcs to give the maps more life. Anyways, here comes the eye candy. Let me know what you think.

This should at least help you out on getting started with the map editor. Making a map and adding blocks is probably alot easier then you think so just take a look at this and I'm sure it will help you. Have fun!

Metroid is one of the main games I'm getting inspiration from actually. I've always loved the dark and alone kind of feel of the Metroid games and thats the kind of atmosphere I'm aiming for. I reduced the brightness on some of the tiles, added an actual background image(found on a free to use site), and added some rock-like blocks as well.

So I have been working on some side scroller graphics and wanted to show them off. I've never really made any graphics in the side scrolling style so let me know what you think. Anyways, heres a small preview of some of the stuff I've got done so far:
-
Yep. You sure can add your own images. Try it out.

So I like the idea of the game with being able to gain all of the classes and using up to four of them at one time. The thing I'm not a fan of is the fact that the lore if an almost exact copy from the book of Genesis. Just seems a little strange to me. On on a side note the stock graphics are not RPG maker xp. They are Macks sprites and tiles which were meant to be used for RPG maker vx but I'm not entirely sure if they are or are not free to use for other engines.

I'm not against user groups. I think it would be nice and welcomed addition honestly. As for elitism I'm not sure what you mean. If you're talking about members becoming ass hats or something then I could maybe see that. But really a user group shouldn't mean anybody is better the next. I do feel like some members should have a little more say in things but only those with a good reputation(as in likes and donators not post count).

So I have been messing around with the idea of making a side scroller with Intersect. There are a few issues that I would have to find a work around for. One issue is jumping which I could just leave out and instead just have climbing as well as using the grapple stone feature. So far it seems the more I think about this idea the more I feel it might be possible. Any ideas and suggestions would be much appreciated so throw them at me if you have any. Here is a screen shot and a short screen recording showing climbing in action. The video is pretty choppy so keep that in mind. Video: http://recordit.co/l8vWWx4WwP

Well I havent completely decided yet but I may just end up doing the single trees in most areas and only using the canopy when it comes to very dense forest areas. Like I said though I haven't decided so there is always the possibility that I may end up just not using the canopy tiles at all. We shall see. Thanks for the feed back guys. It helps more then you know(i think).

The last screen shot is not an I'm game map or anything. It's only purpose is to test things. As for the monsters, I'm ripped them from dragonquest but it would be awesome to get to use Kreators monsters. Anyways, I was more curious if the tree canopy looked okay. My earlier canopy was terrible so I tried to fix it up a bit.
