jcsnider's post in Changing Classes was marked as the answer
The "answer" is that currently stats are not recalculated right now, but they should be.
Â
We will change how this works in Beta 5. Also going to add a checkbox to stat conditionals so you can define whether it should check stats + equipment or just character stats.
Â
These changes are officially on the roadmap:

jcsnider's post in You can create pets? was marked as the answer
A quick search for pets would have revealed the answer:
https://www.ascensiongamedev.com/topic/1712-creating-pets/
Â
Or checking the roadmap for planned features:
https://www.ascensiongamedev.com/forum/90-roadmap/
Â
TLDR; Intersect does not have a pet system and there isn't one planned. This is possible though as a post-source-release modification down the line.

jcsnider's post in Player stat condition checks? was marked as the answer
A checkbox on whether to check base stats versus stats with equipment calculated just might appear in B5 Â
Â
Officially on the roadmap:

jcsnider's post in How i change client's icon? was marked as the answer
Sadly the source is required for this
Â
Source will be released once Intersect is out of Beta stages Â

jcsnider's post in Dead drop items was marked as the answer
Configurable via the servers config.xml file.Â
-
jcsnider's post in Enemies crossing maps naturally was marked as the answer
Npcs should cross maps no problem. Events are tied to maps by design.

jcsnider's post in Closing server to the public was marked as the answer
We desperately need to add this option.. but it's not possible at this time.

jcsnider's post in A small request for beta 5 was marked as the answer
Don’t want Kassie to get hopes up. This won’t be in B5. I have plans to add dozens of extra event commands and functionalities, but getting the engine released and open source will come first.Â

jcsnider's post in What does Guard do? was marked as the answer
Should block oncoming auto attacks and projectiles if you're facing the correct direction. Haven't tested/played with it for awhile.

jcsnider's post in Using tilesets for maps? was marked as the answer
Performance hit, no..... but the file size of your game would skyrocket...

jcsnider's post in error loading .wav file was marked as the answer
For anyone who comes looking. Wav Requirements for MonoGame:
Â
I'll post this in @Ravenborn's thread too in case anyone goes looking there.
-
jcsnider's post in Maximum Player / Usergroups was marked as the answer
There is no hardcoded user limit at this time.Â
Â
As for user groups, we’ve never had a request like that before. It’s not something you’ll be able to do until the source is released unfortunately.Â

jcsnider's post in Item Rarity Color Tag was marked as the answer
Unfortunately not at this time. Maybe in the future and definitely possible after source release Â

jcsnider's post in Make an event item that doesn't consume on use? was marked as the answer
If this doesn't happen in B5 it definitely will shortly after

jcsnider's post in License for graphic content was marked as the answer
They're Mack's graphics. The author released them free for commercial use but his website has long since died.
Â
I personally believe that they're not safe to use.. they seem to resemble rpg makers vx graphics too much imo.
Â
I can't tell you whether they're safe or not with any certainty though.. the rule of thumb is that if you're not sure, don't risk it!

jcsnider's post in Sound Format requirements was marked as the answer
The engine is also very picky about the format of the .wav.... soo many samples or something and it will fail. If some sounds dont work run them through a converter from .wav to a slightly lesser or higher quality.wav.
Â
The sound playback is part of our graphic engine... it's kinda weak but we like MonoGame too much for everything else so we're not jumping ship or anything.
Â
Edit: I found the official requirements for .wav files:

jcsnider's post in Few final questions... was marked as the answer
Client/Resources/Gui/*.xml
Â
No such commands exist. You can make your own via the event system.
See:Â https://www.ascensiongamedev.com/topic/2391-incredibly-easy-commands-tutorial/
Â
Â
Set the dropdown near the tiles from Normal to Animated Autotiles.
Â
At this time there isn't a guild system, nor are there plans to add one. So best move atm is wait for source.
Â
You can setup classes in the Intersect editor (which will cover races). In that editor you can define all the sprites your players can choose from. It's fairly basic though, open source will allow for more customization for each game.

jcsnider's post in Side Scroller / Platformer ORPG engine? was marked as the answer
Vertigo by MrMiguu was awesome back in the day! It's definitely worth playing with and someone might pull off something similar in Intersect down the road .Â
Â
As far as alternatives go I'm afraid that this post won't be of any help.

jcsnider's post in Can Intersect run on a NAS ? was marked as the answer
The Synology devices do run a custom version of Linux they compile themselves I can’t guarantee that you’d be able to get Intersect or MySQL running on one of those devices.Â
Â
Furthermore, as expected with a NAS device, the processors and ram allocations are really low/weak. You definitely could not run MySQL + Intersect + the NAS software with 512mb of ram and probably not with 2gb.Â
Â
I don’t think that it’d be feasible to attempt hosting a game off of these devices.Â

jcsnider's post in How to save the server was marked as the answer
Saving resource and npc states when the server is turned off isn't an option in Intersect. This is not a bug or problem, this is simply outside the engine specs. Servers will generally run for days, weeks, or months on end so we don't see any point in saving these values.
Â
If you disagree then there is nothing you can do right now, but once the source is released you could code in the saving of the entity states for each of these objects.

jcsnider's post in auction house was marked as the answer
Impossible at this point. One of our resident programmers might create one after the full Intersect release with source.Â
Â
Edit: Hid duplicate answers, hypothetical responses, and criticism to said hypothetical responses. No matter how you cut it, this isn’t possible right now and it’s as simple as that.Â

jcsnider's post in question about the banks was marked as the answer
There will be a 4.8.2 (or a 4.9) release before the longer-off Beta 5 release. Hotfix release should be out in the next week or two.
