Eurogamer are reporting that Nintendo's upcoming NX will be a portable, handheld console with detachable controllers:

On the move, NX will function as a high-powered handheld console with its own display. So far so normal - but here's the twist: we've heard the screen is bookended by two controller sections on either side, which can be attached or detached as required.
Then, when you get home, the system can connect to your TV for gaming on the big screen.
A base unit, or dock station, is used to connect the brain of the NX - within the controller - to display on your TV.

I think the design should a littlebit fake (for the controller) but the rest can be true. Nintendo do almost every time a upgrade of their console. The design looks like the wii u. Maybe like nintendo DS and nintendo DS 3D (just the increase of update)

Maybe it's just a new version of the wii u. Don't know if the screen is a good thing. A lot of person hate the wii u just cause the screen.

Maybe it's real or not but if it's real that console will can (maybe) upgrade finance of this compagny or it will be a flop like the wii u. But the new nintendo nes should give them a good finance.

Interesting - Considering that Nintendo has partnered with a mobile gaming company a while back to make games for mobile. I personally think this is legit.

It is also powered by Nvidia Mobile Technology - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-nintendo-nx-mobile-games-machine-powered-by-nvidia-tegra

Meh. They will continue to lose 3rd party support over time until eventually no one but Nintendo makes games for Nintendo.

I disagree allot of big companies (EA, Ubisoft, 2k, etc.) are interested in the NX and Nintendo because of this move. Nintendo also really opened up their Developer Program. No upfront cost to join the dev hardware still costs money but it is allot less than Xbox or Sony from what I have heard.

They're making it easy and open for developers because in the past it wasn't like that when all of the other platforms were easier to develop for. For example, when I went to GDC in 2013 everyone BUT Nintendo had a lot of exciting things going on (PS4, XBone, mobile GPU revolution, etc...). What did Nintendo have? Unity support. They literally only showed off the fact that they support Unity for game development. Not impressed, and since then they haven't done much beyond that to impress me.

of course, I love their IP's. I love Zelda, Star Fox, DK, etc... But I like more games than that and I happen to like a lot of games that aren't even on the console. I'm an avid RPG player. We don't see companies like Rockstar, Bethesda and CD Projekt Red releasing their big hits on Nintendo consoles. Call of Duty ports are always forgotton, etc... Sure, of course EA, Ubi and 2K will have games for Nintendo, they are "publishers". Here's some examples of games they published for Nintendo consoles recently:

EA: http://www.ea.com/wiiu

* Notice how the website is broken

Ubi: http://wiiudaily.com/ubisoft-wii-u-games/

2K: https://www.2k.com/games?genre=ALL&platform=WII U™&sortOrder=1

* Last game being one released in 2012

So yeah, of course there will be 3rd party games but let's be real here, it won't get much better than that unless they provide developers with the POWER they need to put their work on the big screen.
