How to see the panorama in the editor?

Question

Hey, my question is simple.

I have made a map in Photoshop and wanted to put it as panorama. Ingame I can see the map but my editor is black when I select Map1.png. So

it is a bit difficulty to create lights etc. when I can´t see where to put them because the map is black. What´s the mistake?

Thank you :)

Best regards

Panoramas aren't rendered in the editor. That's why you're not seeing them.

They're not really meant to be used like this, but rather as a backdrop that moves around a bit behind the map.

How come you're not just using a regular tileset though?

I wanted to do parallax mapping, so I create the basic map in the editor and then screenshot it. Then I edit it with photoshop to make it more dynamic. That´s called parallax mapping and would be awesome in Intersect :)

Wouldn't you be able to simply make the entire map a tile set that way though? It's not quite the same but it is doable. Spread it across the ground layer.

The engine optimizes it back into a single object to render to the screen. So performance of rendering tile by tile isn't really a concern.
