I believe there is no player limit on intersect if your machine can handle it, if you have a powerful enough server to handle as many players as you want to it should handle these players. But, as I said, it hasn't been tested with too many players.

As Khaikaa has pointed out there is no limit (that we know of). However, I'm sure there is a bottleneck. Having said that, Intersect is written in a language that can certainly handle large numbers, without incredible lag. Again, this is based heavily on your hosting machine. As you couldn't handle that with a low-spec computer.

Hard to answer, it depends on the server power, there is not an exact number of max number of players
