  1. The Champion Update is out now! Head to the Slayers' Mansion on the western edge of Vennerwood to get started on your champion journey. Champions are variants of normal overworld mobs that drop exclusive crafting materials. These materials can be used to boost your accessories and prayers at the Fountain of Champions within the Slayers' Mansion. To fight champions, one must have a monster's bestiary entry completed. You can then check if that mob has a champion by scrolling to its loot section, which will tell you the champion's spawn chance if there is one. While killing that mob, you can then proc a champion spawn! They can be quite tough, though, so bring some friends. You can disable champion spawns at the mansion, if you so choose.
  2. Just a little status update to report that the game is certainly not dead: I am currently working on the next major content update, introducing 3 new areas, a new class rank, a 5-level increase to the cap, new mobs, resources, tier of gear, etc. Embedded Video Link Here's just a fun little minigame I made as part of that update:
  3. I'm not sure on the maps/items. Hundreds of each, haha. No, I have programmed/redesigned a lot of systems in the engine myself to get the game to where it is now, especially so the item upgrading, the character menu, challenges, dungeons, etc. Though the skilling system is just event based. All there is to it is a currency that resources always drop that is essentially your EXP, and permits you can buy that are just events that raise a player variable by 1. You can easily check on that player variable to see if the player can interact with some resource.

    Concept Driemmo

I think that's a good idea lol. I like the look of the art but it is incredibly small. The guy is about the size of one of the pebble tiles.
  5. A new content update is dropping later today. Come join the fun, and check out the patch notes on our discord! Embedded Video Link
  6. Embedded Video Link Here's a teaser for a content release slated for next week:
  7. Haha thanks. It is very intimidating/keeps me very busy, but it's been super rewarding seeing people have a good time.
  8. The game is now live! Come play: https://www.middleages.online/ It is completely free.
  9. Thank you :). I am quite pleased lol, hoping for a smooth little beta release.
  10. Pleased to announce I've completed the game's first trailer! I've linked it in the OP. The update is still on schedule to go live this Thursday, April 20th.
  11. There's going to be a massive update some time next week (hopefully) - I'm currently aiming for Thursday, April 20th (blaze it). I hope to see you all there! You can find the game at the website in the OP.
  12. @Lunam Thank you! I've been working really hard on this game for close to two years now. I think the next update should be ready some time mid-April, and I think it's going to be a good one :). Also: lol, thanks
  13. Showing off the new weapon enhancement system! As well as weapon upgrades:

    Open Alpha DAGGA

Just poking around, but this is definitely one of the cooler Intersect games I've played. The art and sounds are solid, the story is simple enough not to be overwhelming, but "there" enough that it can keep you engaged, and their are some really clever mechanics that utitlize the engine in fun ways. I like what you've done with healing flasks and food items, very clever. Great work so far!
  15. Embedded Video Link A long winded explanation of the new challenge/skill unlock system I've been working on to completely revitalize progression in MA:O. This will be the biggest part of the next update.
  16. Thanks for the write up, Aes. Always valuable to hear from someone that's been in the trenches with an active game for a bit.
  17. It's worth mentioning that I am currently working on a massive overhaul on the game's systems. You can always check the #dev-log channel on the official MA:O discord for updates for the game's development.
  18. Thank you, haha. Feel free to play or join our discord at https://www.middleages.online/ Just a small update to share today: The new title/splash screen for the game, as well as the new theme song. The art is courtesy of the great @Daniele Santana
  19. I have been hammering away at things under the hood for the best two months or so. Lots of structural things I'd like to have in place, with the current goal being "do the work now so that content generation is easier later". Lots of quality of life changes, and some bigger changes to come, such as the bestiary and a rework of skill unlocks, in the future. In the meantime, I put together a fun teaser for the game in the style of a late 90s promotional video I used to watch A LOT as a kid, called Target: Get Into the Game. I hope you enjoy it! Also, I am sorry about the thumbnail lmao.
