Do you know if the entire window can be adjusted (to make it larger)? I would like to have the items be above and below the character, I haven't been able to get it to expand, might have to be done with source.

Sorry I am unsure. If you find out a way to do it let me know. I will work on it as well.

Yes you can increase the size. You will need to edit the bounds to the size of the image you are using as the background.

 

This is my UI, and as you can see I have changed a lot, the character equipment screen is 3 times the size of the original:

The close button is bound to the title section.

I increased the window size horizontally, the close button is limited to the previous value of the window
