  1. There's some great deals on the Xbox One S right now. I just got one and am having a blast playing Diablo 3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Xbox-One-S-1TB-Forza-Horizon-3-Bundle-Xbox-Controller-Play-and-Charge-Kit-/292158259069 This is a pretty great deal.
  2. You'll have a lot more success if you just provide a download link.
  3. Eh, not interesting enough to spark my interest without the source, but definitely a lot of impressive progress. I look forward to v1.0.
  4. Eh I just tossed it there. Need to clear up some room for things in my room.
  5. Not exactly proud of it.
  6. Lmao ya'll posting in a thread more than 6 months old.
  7. I wanted it to sound like the name of a Chinese general. It actually just read as pony. I ran with it.
  8. My name is literally John.
  9. I'd be down to help organize something like that. I only live like 4-5 hours from Vegas.
  10. I only brought up using localhost because I ran into a similar problem with lidgren once.
  11. Odd. For shits and giggles, change the host value in the config file to 127.0.0.1
  12. Just to ensure that you're forwarding to the correct local IP, can you open command prompt, enter ipconfig, and post a screenshot of the result?
  13. The cool thing about the internet is that it can act as an escape from the real world. We don't have to perpetuate the same shitty realities that people face in their day-to-day lives. I think it's important to question the standards to which we are holding some people and their projects. Not everyone has their eyes set on going big, releasing their game on Steam, and monetizing everything. I think we should be respectful and cognizant of this fact. I haven't seen much of a problem with people putting down the work of others on this forum, but I'm sure it will happen eventually. I think OP proposed a reasonable paradigm through which to offer constructive criticism for projects.
  14. I'm still here in some form or fashion.
  15. I think this is true. Constructive feedback is such a critical component in our growth as human beings in every area of life. At the same time, I think it's important to realize that this is meant to be something fun. For a lot of people it's an escape from a reality outside the confines of this forum and the internet. Games are themselves a form of art, and thus I don't think we can in any certain way say exactly how they should be or in what way they should function. I think games have experienced an extreme commodification that will hopefully wither in a way similar to that which has happened for film. For me, a successful game cannot be measured in how many players it has or how much revenue it generates. A successful game is one where the vision of its author(s) has been fulfilled.
  16. Yeah I totally agree. Honestly, I'm getting to the point where I don't care what people are doing as long as they aren't hurting anyone. We all started somewhere, so I don't quite understand the point in berating people who are just attempting to fulfill a passion. It's up to JC what standards he wants to set for his forum. Obviously he shouldn't allow projects which are a blatant plagiarism of existing work, but again I don't see much harm in allowing a kid to post his/her project, no matter how poorly constructed it is. What does it hurt?
  17. Ugh, you know me and we've had our fair share of confrontations over my inability to work on anything for very long, but we'll see where this goes. In all fairness though, that time in my life truly was crazy. I've hardly been at the computer recently and honestly I'm okay with that reality.
  18. Short update and nothing really to show for it visually, but the port to MonoGame is complete, and the performance gain is certainly not negligible. Work towards actually making the game feel like, well, a game, can now resume.
  19. I plan to resume work on this within the next week. The big issue that I was working on when I took my last hiatus was one concerning performance. Once I've tackled that, hopefully I can move on to things that will make for more interesting progress updates. Additionally, if anyone is interested in lending a helping hand on this project, be my guest. Please be aware that I have no plans to monetize or market it.
  20. I'm the dude on the left.
  21. This isn't dead. Currently porting the client over to MonoGame and then I need to do a bit of tweaking with the server to fix a movement synchronization oddity. Things have been a little slow because I'm still waiting on artwork (will probably just begin purchasing assets here soon) and I also recently got a new job with a human rights NPO here in Phoenix. Stay tuned.
  22. Yeah, I've been waiting on the artist. If there's no update soon, I'm going to move along regardless.
