You can put one new letter at the end of the word, or you can change an existing letter to a different one.  But you can't add new letters to the beginning or middle of a world.  Only the end.

Missed that. That restriction basically kills this game and prevents any attempt to change the word to Pokemon (what I wanted to do).

Yeah, I agree that the restriction makes the game too hard.  I vote that we change the rules a little.

I think that the rules should be:

 

1.) Change any two existing letters to whatever you want.

 

OR

 

2.) Change one existing letter AND add a letter (anywhere you want).

Or alternatively play with the more challenging rules and keep track of how far you go, when you can no longer move forward we set a high score or something of how many changes we made and then start over with a new word.
