It is suppose to be a thread to help new comers to know where to start. And I do agree. It should be VB.NET for the fact of Orion+. I will change it.

I never introduced myself... How sad... Any who here we go. I'm currently known as Blue. Some may know me better as crzy, crzy the hated, crzyone9584, The Doctor, The Crzy Doctor. I've used many names on here and eclipse back in the day. Age: 28 only younger than Damian and oero as of now.. Hopefully that will change. and more older people will join. Job: I currently work for Spanga Software. It is a Real Estate software/web development company for GetMoreOffers.com which is a Florida and Colorado Real Estate Company. I've worked with them for the past year and don't see myself leaving anytime soon. Game Dev: I've been doing game dev as a hobby since roughly May of 2008 which started with RPG Maker and eventually updated to EO 1.0 and EO 2.0 during the Robin years. Personal Crap - I'm actually working on creating my own software development company called Nofida Software LLC. I'm in the process of filling out the paper work and creating the site. I'm currently still in college obtaining my B.S. in computer science. I go to SNHU online and should be done in another year or 2. Thats about it. Past few days with the influx of people coming here I've noticed the same questions over and over. Where do I get Visual Studio, where should I start, etc etc. So I'm making this thread to link to resources for everyone to start. This is for a windows PC. I will make a second post about Mac and Linux in a few days after I gather links for them. First is the Software. Be it @Damian666's Orion+ or the soon to be @jcsnider's and@Kibbelz's Intersect, you will need to download install Visual Studio. This is a free software developed and maintained by Microsoft. You are able to get the download for the most recent version here. I've also noticed people asking what language to start with. As there are many languages out there for you to choose from, I really only suggest two. I suggest C# as number one as it is what the main Game Engine this site is about is written in. You have many members here that will be able to help you out along the way of learning it as well. Second language is VB.NET. This is because of Orion+. Also you will have a great resource from this community with help just as you would with C#. Next are tutorials. Each and every person learns differently. For me it is easier to learn from going through the code reading it, then attempting to do it myself. For this I usually go through GitHub. That link to Github goes to C# open source games. To learn the basics I suggest using Dot Net Perls. It covers every basic think you will want to learn and many advanced things as well. Youtube Videos Where To Start with AGD? Updated the story and added in some background descriptions of 2 of the main cities. Any and all feed back would be a great help.

Updated first post with names of some things. Re worked classes for races.
