  1. That's the same size we're using for Ascent Online haha Big, but not too big to be a pain to sprite.
  2. I quite like the graphics they went with. Looks great!

Interestingly enough, we will have skill trees too. I got a list of ideas we went over a few months back, that I need to take a look at again but that came up. *Goes and organizes a pile of digital papers*
  4. I stumbled across a little program called Sprite Creator 3, that has a bunch of pre-installed graphics for Rpgmaker VX/XP. The link can be found on their facebook page in the "About" section at: https://www.facebook.com/SpriteCreator3

Looking fabulous. I'm a big fan of the Talent trees.
  6. This is an abstract expression I've named "Forest Hut":
  7. lol Thanks for the feedback. It's more cartoony, which was kind of my intention? lol (I try not to think too hard about it). But I will attempt realism fairly soon I think. In terms of my skill, I'm not quite where I want to be If I'm honest.
  8. Here is one called "Futuristic Wizards":
  9. I have recently got into digital painting, and am going to post my works here.

Love the logo. The game is well planned out with nice features. My only criticism is the brown borders, which seem a bit dark in comparison to the menu.
  11. Looking great so far. I'll be keeping my eye on it.

    Starhaven

It will be sometime before it is finished, and we have no set date at this point. Having said that, map development is always in progress and I will update with some screenshots soon.
  13. Looking great!

We will be using Intersect, or some other C# based engine. We're using Orion(vbnet) currently to map the world.

    Starhaven

I'm happy to say the project is still going. The mechanics and features have been worked out to where we have a good vision for the game. Along those lines, we've also created a world map to help guide development along. The two major continents, which are at steady war in the game, are Devun and Olemar. After leaving the Isle of Dreams at level 10 you are given the choice of which one you'd like to be a mercenary for. PvP will be possible in almost every location except for major cities and dungeons.
  16. Sounds like a great idea. I know that Unity is often utilized to create 2D platformers. Best of luck.
  17. No prob. Choosing a palette is definately one of the biggest challenges. A few years ago I noticed many older console games used strange color combinations and originally I thought this was done merely because of color restrictions in 8bit & 16bit. Well, it turns out that's partly true but it also makes for nice art as well. This tree for example, you can see that the shadows are purple, the leaves are different greens and the highlights are yellow: (Personally I use a similiar strategy for grass/leaves, but replace purple with blue-green)
  18. Hey Zetasis. Getting better all the time. I recommend looking into the "hue shifting" method for deciding on shadows and highlights. I think it would take your pixel art to the next level. For reference this tutorial has everything you'd want to know, with the last portion discussing color ramps and hues: http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11299

    Favorite RPG?

Final Fantasy 9 - Love the remake of characters and storyline. My favorite in the series. Zelda: Link to the Past - Awesome graphics, music and characters. Still play this one. Shining Force - A real gem of the Sega Genesis and one of the few RPG games on it. A nice mix between rpg and strategy.
  20. Love that show!

    Starhaven

May I present to you: Starhaven. The goal with our game is to create an open-world sandbox mmo, while taking ideas from classic single player titles. Ascent will have mini-games, an elaborate main story, timed events, battle arenas and more. All while retaining the core aspects of an online rpg, such as PvP, quests and guilds. We hope the result will be a fun and unique experience for the hardcore and easy-going gamer alike. Game Info to be updated soon.. Magework Studios is: Murdoc (Graphics Design/Development), Kibbelz (Programming), Melissa (Writing/Development), Lukas (Writing), Samuel (Development).
  22. Looks great Gwen. I hope to have a gambling system in a future project, and this will help a lot.
  23. Two thumbs up!

I like where the project is headed. The ideas are solid, the crafting concepts are unique, and the graphics are nice. Best of luck on this.
