  2. Welcome to Pixel Realms! I’m thrilled to introduce Pixel Realms, the rebirth of my original pixel art assets, once known as The Revolution. 14 years i decided it was time for a fresh start. This new version comes with an updated name, a new look, and an exciting vision for the future. The journey to Pixel Realms started with The Revolution, a set of pixel art assets that I created. However, over time and other commitments the project got left behind and lost to time, recently i stumbled across my old assets on a few websites and while reading comments left by others that’s when I decided to breathe new life into the project. Enjoy this little sneak peak: What’s Next? As the project evolves, I plan on adding more content, expanding the library of assets, and exploring new themes and styles. I have big plans for Pixel Realms, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us. If you have any suggestions, requests, or ideas, feel free to reach out—I’m always eager to hear from the community! Stay tuned for future updates, and be sure to keep an eye out for the next batch of exciting new assets coming your way! Free to Use, Always A core principle of Pixel Realms is that everyone should be able to access and use these assets in their own creative projects—whether it’s a game, an animation, or even a personal art project. That’s why I’ve made Pixel Realms completely free to use. You’re free to download, modify, and incorporate the assets into any project you’d like, without any licensing fees or restrictions. This means that whether you’re an indie game developer looking for sprites for your next project, a hobbyist working on a digital art piece, or even a student exploring pixel art, Pixel Realms is here to help. My hope is that these assets serve as a springboard for creativity and inspiration in your own work.

  3. Hi everyone. I have a background in pen n paper game design. I love quirky mechanics. And focus more on gameplay than graphics. Recently got a laptop on my truck. Found this engine and away i go. This is my first jaunt into to video game design and im already pushing the engine. Here we go!

    Invisible NPCs

Yes, it is possible! There are several ways to do this through the event system. You can make a monster appear when you use an item, with spawn and conditionals, you can use switches or even variables, it all depends on the purpose you are looking for in your project! Excuse the English (google translator)

  6. If you want your client to connect to your server you have to compile everything at the same time; client, editor and server

  7. Lately I’ve been switching between Stardew Valley and CS:GO. Got back into skins trading too—got a decent flip knife thanks to https://skin.land/ which made things a bit more fun. I didn’t expect to enjoy the trading side as much, but it’s kind of addicting tracking your inventory value while playing.

  9. Hello I’ve set up my game server using Intersect Engine, and it runs fine on my local machine. However, when I try to connect from another device, it either times out or fails to establish a connection. I’ve double-checked that the server is running, and I can connect using localhost, but external connections don’t seem to work. I’ve already tried port forwarding on my router, ensuring that the correct ports are open. I also disabled my firewall temporarily to see if that was the issue, but I still can’t get clients to connect. I suspect it could be a networking configuration issue or something specific to how Intersect handles connections. Could it be related to my ISP blocking certain ports, or do I need to adjust something in the server settings? Checked https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/cannot-connect-to-certain-game-servers/223bf30c-48bc-4411-a0ae-c478b24bd0cb-Salesforce Administrator guide related to this and found it quite informative. Has anyone else run into this problem? Are there specific troubleshooting steps I should follow to ensure my server is properly accessible from outside my local network? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

  10. Hi, Have you had a look through the official documentation for deployment? https://docs.freemmorpgmaker.com/en-US/deploy/forwarding/ Also this might be helpful: Double Check Port Forwarding Intersect Engine uses port 5400 by default (TCP). In your router settings: Make sure you're forwarding TCP port 5400 to your local IP address (like 192.168.x.x). Double-check the internal and external port numbers match. Make sure the local IP hasn't changed (set a static IP or DHCP reservation for your host machine). Firewall + Antivirus Temporarily disabling the firewall was a good test, but also check if antivirus software might have its own network protection. If your firewall is back on, make sure there's an inbound rule allowing TCP on port 5400. Test Using External IP Is the second device you are testing within the same network, or external to your network? Have a friend (or yourself using mobile data/tether) try connecting with your public IP address. You can find this at whatismyip.com. Example: if your IP is 123.123.123.123, they should enter that in the Intersect client. Check Intersect Server Config Open your resources/config.json on the server. Make sure port is correct “5400” or whatever you are using. Also verify the client configuration (client's resources/config.xml) points to your public IP (not localhost). ISP NAT or CGNAT Some ISPs use Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT), which blocks inbound connections. You can check if you’re behind CGNAT by comparing your router’s WAN IP with your public IP from whatismyip.com. If they're different, you might be under CGNAT, and port forwarding won’t work. In this case, you’d need to: Contact your ISP for a public/static IP. Or use a VPN with port forwarding like ZeroTier, Tailscale, or a VPS. UPnP and Router Reboot If your router supports UPnP, try enabling it or disable it if it’s causing issues. Always reboot the router after making port forwarding changes to ensure they apply. Server Logging / Debug Check Intersect’s server logs to see if it even registers the connection attempt from the outside device. If there’s no attempt at all, it means the request isn’t reaching your PC—pointing to a router or ISP block. Also I tend to do all my development locally on my machine and use Intersects Hosting for my deployed server: Hope this helps

  11. Hello everyone, Recently stumbled upon Intersect. Many years ago I did a little mapping and such for a very small, now long gone game, and have just come back because I still absolutely love all of this, and still have the desire to create my own. I've already done quite a bit of reading up and now I'm moving into testing things in action. The support I've already received here has been amazing and I'm glad to have found this community and Intersect. Thanks everyone. RaalB

  12. Hey there everyone. The last time I joined a forum community was probably in 2006 or something, so that's refreshing. No idea if I remember to stick around in this day and age of 15 second attention spans. My adventure with game developement started a long ago in a place very much like this one, and I sticked to it ever since. I'm looking for something more lowkey and small to fiddle around with when I'm not doing corporate work, so I figured an MMO is as not overambitous as it gets with small projects right? Cheers!

    Help with creating guilds.

Creating a guild can be confusing at first. First of all you need to create a player variable which will store the name of the guild, so it must be a String variable (for this turotial the variable is called Guild) then, an "NPC" (event) which should show two options: Create and Delete, if the player selects "Create" you must use the Input Variable option and select "Guild" player variable, making sure to specify the minimum length greater than 0 and The maximum for this tutorial will be 10 Right after, you must use the Create Guild command, which will ask you for the variable in which you save the name of the guild With that you will have the guild created. If you did everything correctly, the name of the guild that you wrote when you created the guild will appear above the player's name. I hope I have explained in the best way.

  14. Hello there, I just discovered Intersect and my mind is blowing up. I am so happy I've found out about this engine. I can now make my dream game. MMORPG has always been so difficult to make, because of the difficulty of networking, but also because they are so much tiny little things you need to take care of. You don't just code features one time, but 2 times, client-side and server-side. Syncing everything together and not forgetting some bytes is so exhausting that I've gived up into making my dream game. Until I discover Intersect engine. I now have hope to make my dream game. I've downloaded it and I am already at work playing with it. I am really grateful, thankful to the developpers who made such an amazing engine for FREE. I usually never pay money for thing related to developpement, because if I give up for any reason, it's wasted money and I know it. I really wish a long continuation and I appreciate a lot the effort of the developpers. You guys have done a great work. Thank you.
