Game Maker is surprisingly powerful. Sometimes it gets a bad rep because it was very basic in it's early days. But anyone who hasn't tried it in the last year should at least give it a spin, it has been used to make some really big indie games as of late such as Undertale. Sure you can go as deep as you want with anything. For a major company or organization thats fine. Go balls deep. For a small home business or game developer. All you really need to do is this. What matters is results v. effort (When working at that scale) I follow this method and I am quite successful at affiliate marketing, was able to quit my day job. I respect your opinion, do things however you would like. SEO is def a deep subject. But I like to melt things down to practicality

This is a really useful tool Ive found for making 2d maps. Many different engines support Tiled, but you'll have to check first before making maps with it. Still a great tool to have and useful for learning mapping. http://www.mapeditor.org/

Season 9 just came out. March 27th! its on Netflix now. Its great!

Is anyone else here into this show? I find it weirdly hypnotic and relaxing. Hilarious of course as well. They made the first 7 seasons in the early 2000s and then Netflix rebooting the series last year, which was awesome. I am waiting for Season 9 right now. Can't wait

RPG Maker XP while not being the newest product in the line of RPG Maker products still remains some people's engine of choice over RPG Maker VX. It does have it's benefits and remains a solid engine for making games. I wanted to post some video tutorials here for anyone interesting in making an RPG but unfamiliar with with RPG Maker VX engine. These tuts are pretty basic but you can skip around in them and learn the parts you need to know. Also here is a video of some good games made with RPG Maker so you can get a feel for what the best capabilities of the program are.
