Running Server Through Dropbox

Hi friends,

I run my server on a HostWinds VPS, I am wondering if it is safe to store my server in dropbox while it is running.

I wouldn't be interacting with the server on any other computer but the VPS. I just want a way to backup my server.

dropbox tends to lock files its uploading, so that could lead to server not being able to write to databse etc.

 

would be better off writing a script to back up to dropbox imho.
