Protecting Resources

Question

Posted

I am wondering if there is a way to compile and protect resources from being simply taken out directly from the resources folder... I.E. John Doe buys a 99c game and tries to resell resources from that folder, however he can't because they are weird file extensions he doesn't know how to decompile.Β  I know many games have things like .grf or .ztw or whatever to do this, is there a way or is this too far out there to do atm with this engine?

It is not possible, and this will likely not be provided in base Intersect any time soon, if ever. Assets will eventually be ripped, it's just a question of when, not if.

I paid someone to do it with my VB6 project. But to be honest, I'm not sure if it is the same process with C#. As Panda stated, it'll eventually be ripped, it's 2D graphics and can be done with a mere screenshot unfortunately. I regret encrypting my vb6 project due to the extra hassle I had to go through in order to keep everything working.
