  1. I made a Playlist with a bunch of tutorials on the intersect engine and most of ( soon to be all) the editors tools. If you find them of benefit please just give a like and subscribe. my channel is tiny and i can use all the views i can get. I took a 2 year break but am back and thought that others could benefit from some you tube content that covers all the basics. In the play list is getting started, server config file, tileset and basic editor use, items, NPC, craft, craft table editor, resources, paperdolls, events, projectiles, quests and more to come in the next week. I don't know everything and in a few spots i struggle to remember but i think where i struggle others will too so i do believe this will be of use to alot of new adopters and my way of giving back to the community. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urXP4o9AliM&list=PL_4gMmFWZ37NlmNbIwdSA3DLtYSQKzmrg
  2. The official documentation is great but the projectiles section is empty. I seached but cant find a real how too on projectiles. I played around for a couple hours before giving up and moving on. I created a bow then created an arrow, i created an animation and set it to the projectile. ( i also made the projectile stackable but i cant stack them they just show up in item slots side by side not stacked, and i cant drag one into the other). When i equip the bow and go to shoot a mob the animation plays but nothing travels across the screen. I even set a simple png as a one frame animation and tried it playing with the range, i went up to 4 but it still doesnt travel. also i can be right on the mob and no damage occurs until i unequip the bow and use my default attack. If anybody has a how to or better yet a video that would be awesome. this feels like i am missing a really simple thing but without documentation i cant figure it out. Edit: Ok i found this finally. So I thought that that tutorial by aesthetic was the solution but I still cant get this projectile system to work. I CAN get a bow to require ammunition, I CAN get the amunition to be consumed when used by the bow, I CAN get the projectile to play an animation when I use it. what I CANT get it the animation to travel, no matter what range or speed I assign to it in the projectile settings it just sits in the tile adjacent to the player sprite. I CAN even get it to inflict damage on a MOB but I have to bump into the mob when I fire so the sprite touched it. I just cant get the animation/ammo to travel … Help it must be something easy im missing. I am trying to work on the bottom layer if that means anything. Sorry about the multi post, I thought repling to my own posr was a reply not a multi post. I uploaded the images there are 4. all png animation, arrow_ammon, item_bow and projectile. thanks for getting back to me so fast, thought it would be a while....appreciate it.
  3. Ok I ran thru the event tutorial its pretty thorough. but I must have done something wrong. I created a randomly spawning NPc and slapped iton the map. the quest I set up in the tutorial was kill 5 and return to the lady, pretty cookie cutter of the tutorial. But as soon as I accept the quest to kill 5 mice now I can select the mice but cant attack them. I go back to the lady nd she goes to part 2 and says come bck when you killed 5 mice...as expected. If I log off then back on I talk to her and the quest is completed and I get my experience ( I didn't have curancy so I gave ex-points instead. So why cant I attack the mice when i'm in that stage of the quest. weird.
  4. Yea i did. it works well. i am working through the event tutorial yesterday and tonight. Was just not expecting the standard non-player-charactor to not be used for quest givers, shops etc. like every other engine does. It threw me off, once you told me to use events i dug in and made some headway...i was just expecting this engine to be simular in function as others...my mistake.
  5. Ok thanks for the info. funny tho I have used dozens of engines et and NPC have always been placables for either mobs or player interactions. a bit different of an approach ere. it seems like they just want you to use them as mobs. Still this doesn't explain why they are placed 4 tiles off from where I put them when the client runs. that's gonna get real old real quick.
  6. So I spent an hour looking thru the documents and searching the forum. I cant find an awnser. I am just starting and have beta 5.1 installed. I created a balank map (just grass) then created 2 npc a woman and a dog. I wanted to place the woman and then set up events/quest to go find her dog. A simple learning pracrice lesson I thought. well when I place the woman (non moving npc) there is no graphical representation in the editor and when I fire up the client she is 4 tiles up or down of where I placed her. This seems very weird since she was a declared npc. logic says she should have a representation in the editor so you know where you put npc that aren't randomly spawned and the game client shouldn't jump that supposed placement 4 tiles away. what am I missing can somebody educate me or forward a link to a forum post that can? thanks.
