Current BGM music file format / type

Has MP3 functionality been given to the engine for BGM?

 

I would also like to suggest adding Module music file compatibility if possible (.xm .s3m .it etc) through Modplug (openMPT) or Mikmod. I have 10 min+ music files in module format that are like 100kb or less. Would make sense to me for smaller delivery package or music update on load. Just a thought...
