    Intersect Demo Game
Spawn in a small town, familiarize yourself with it's inhabitants, and proceed to protect your new friends by vanquishing the monsters all around you.

    Introduction
This game was created by @Kibbelz in order to demonstrate:
Custom graphics created by @George, @Xeno, @Zetasis, and @PixelFox which are now the defaults for the engine itself. Custom UI provided by @Aesthetic Basic features/capabilities of the Intersect game engine. Hosting quality and reliability of Intersect Hosting Solutions.

Due to the nature of this game, expected playtime is only 2-3 hours. It is highly recommended that you grab a friend when trying to conquer this small world.

    Story
There is no real story at the moment, but I can outline how the game currently works and how I hope to expand moving forward.  Immediately after creating your character you spawn washed up on a beach.  You have no memory of your past, your family, where you came from, or how you got to this strange little town. You don't have any money, or food, and you're lucky a random guy on the beach is willing to part with some of his clothes. You're stuck in this little town, so you better get accustomed to it.

In our Demo Game you will be given various quests that lead you out into the forest to the west, the graveyard to the north, and the cave to the south. In each of these locations you have loot to find, mobs to kill, and bosses to conquer. If you look around you will find the alter-egos of many AGD veterans including myself (JC), Kibbelz, Damian, Panda, Zetasis, Murdoc, Geroge, PixelFox, and more -- we all have short little quotes about the game and our game dev community.

Once you conquer the bosses in each of the PvE areas you've beat our game, but don't take on that task lightly, it is super hard to kill mobs in our game -- we've designed it this way to keep people playing/grinding in hopes that they would play longer and help us discover more bugs in the Intersect engine itself at the same time.

We highly recommend you bring a friend into this little adventure, and let us know what you think in our discussion boards.

    Continued Development
No further development on this game is planned/expected at this time. It isn't something I can dedicate time to with other projects I am working on alongside the engine itself.

Thanks for all of your hard work @XFallSeane.

Recently Nightmare has launched its new website via Intersect CMS here! Its worth noting it is still a work in progress and the color schemes are currently being evaluated by @Xeno. I would highly suggest that most people consider basing their game websites off Intersect CMS. It is very sophisticated even though it is still unpolished at present. @XFallSeane has been working closely with me to get this site up and running with all of our custom systems. I'm also looking into some API optimisations to improve site load time.

    I'm glad you're back!

Thanks for highlighting the cms I really try to do my best to make the cms more optimize.

But to do this, you need an optimization of the api regarding the load time but also the return of data for small game having less than 50 players it can pass but with more players the number of requests api is really too huge to recover sometimes only one information ...But to do this, you need an optimization of the api regarding the load time but also the return of data for small game having less than 50 players it can pass but with more players the number of queries api is really too huge to recover sometimes only one information

Currently several sites runs on the v2.1 in a custom way.

I have local 3 sites rotating on different cms to create custom systems but also integrate updates for all (optimization and lots of other things).

Tonight I'll be working on the new road system (URL) integrate on Nightmare and integrate it into the v2.1

Then integrate the rest of the optimization with the official development version to deploy it on all sites currently available. Then integrate the rest of the optimization with the official development version to deploy it on all sites currently available.

    Another big thank you @Kibbelz

    Hello everyone

The development is a little slowed down but version 2.1 will soon arrive.

Some sites are already on the version and we can fix many bugs.

Some ask for custom systems that I'm doing that allows me in mem time to optimize the cms.

I come back as soon as possible with more information at this level

Kibbelz reacted to OniSensei in Intersect GUI Editor
Hello! So one of the biggest hurdles I have faced while using the Intersect Engine, is editing the GUI. Any big changes require a lot of work, and while it isn't difficult to edit the JSON files and figure out what does what. It does take time, and constant reopening of the client to check the changed.

I decided to make a tool that will load the Intersect Engine GUI JSON files and give you a visual editor for them. It simplifies the JSON file into a TreeView that is easy to edit and save.

Currently this is limited in what it will show but I will be adding much more to this tool. This is the initial alpha release, there will likely be bugs Please tell me about bugs!

This project is Open Source though it is coded in VB.NET and I am trash, be thankful this even works lol.

Make sure to copy and paste the contents of your Client > Resource > gui folder to the editors gui folder, and replace any images in the resources folder that you would like. The custom font is still experimental at this time but in theory it should work, you can change the font by putting a .ttf file into the font folder and changing the font in the settings window (cog icon).

Please let me know if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them! And follow the development here:

Finished all the layout > menu windows, time to start work on the layout > game windows.
Some things are kinda wonky due to the hierarchy of the json file and the form components used to generate the visual aspect.

I also added this neat little toggle-able grid overlay to help with coordinates.

Also started a github for the project, its coded in VB.NET and I'm not a good coder by any sense so you get what you get xD you've been warned.

Today I will be finishing up the northern part of my Tutorial Island I've named Breakwater Isle. Im not sure I like the beach from this height. Walking around with my character doesnt seem too bad, kinda gives me an Ark: SE feel with all the rocks and palms. If you can't tell, the dense wooded area is elevated off of the beach using cliffs. The blank part in the NE corner will be a smoothing ramp to connect the beach to the inner island.

Very impressive. Is that Pixel Based movement I see? If so I would be very interested to know its performance on a network with a large amount of players.

Did you make the graphics yourself? I like them a lot however I'm not much of a fan of the resolution difference between the entities and the tiles.

Looks really good, all the best.

About the graphics, I have a pixel artist who helps with commissions on the project and about the netwotk, i'm using Unity (as engine) and mirror networking, with  my tests we are ok with 100~200 players (so far on our tests in production env) doing multiple things in our (large) world, but I need to do more "test stress". xD

    Soon i'll bring more news.
