Hello community :)

I just registered, I've always loved playing mmorpgs and thought to try my hand working with this game engine. I also have experience with RPG Maker since RM95 so I have an idea what I'm getting into :) save for the online part.

Thank you for having me.

Ahem. The name's Dagda. I am working on a game ((with my dearest waifu)) that goes by the title Wrathwood Online. I've always preferred Eastern MMOs to Western ((and MMOs with some sandbox model as compared to a theme park MMO)), my favorite being Mabinogi. Our game will reflect this idol sandbox style. My favorite offline games are mainly simulation games: The Sims, Hometown Story, Harvest Moon, the like.I also enjoy games with visual novel elements, my favorite being Danganronpa ((a mystery adventure game series with RPG and Novel elements)). When I'm not with the waifu or stuck in a game, I enjoy composing music and doing some art//animation.

Hi, my name is Anderson Almeida, I'm Brazilian and I'm 18 years old.

At 8 years of age, I became a computer science student at 10 years old. I trained my first computer at 15 years old I started to learn the programming world.

Currently I do not study programming or college. But my dream is to become a virtual game developer in college. I'm trying hard to learn the most.

At the age of 15 I started to develop my Open Tibia servers due to the limited resources of the game and the decadence and bad reputation of it, now I use Intersect Engine Beta 3.1 as the main engine.

My goal is to create a MMORPG game where players do not feel obligated to spend a lot of money and play without feeling forced to spend, in my life I have been in difficulty spending money on games and today I do not want others to go through O That I passed, if everything works with this new engine my dream will come true.

@tekadon Welcome to the forums :P I can see some stuff got lost in translation but thanks for the backstory anyway and good luck on your dream. (also bit of an oxymoron with the line: 'At 8 years of age, I became a computer science student at 10 years old')

Hey everyone!

About me:

My name is Yan, I'm 25 years old and I'm from Brazil. Sorry if my english is not 100%, i can talk better in IRL.

I'm a Control and Automation Engineer. I had a startup for the last 14 months, worked with home automation, but because of disagreements with my partners we decide to end the startup, and now I decided to start the project I ever wanted, build a game, but as a hobbyist in my spare time (developing game in Brazil is not easy). And now I'm looking for a job, does anyone hire me? hahahah When i find a job i will donate! hahahah

I can code in C/C++/C#, and starting to learn web (HTML, CSS, Java...). Good at Photoshop/Sony Vegas.

I was searching for a good game engine, and i believe i found what i came searching in the last few days.

My final goal is to develop a game where I can put the best part of some games that I have played before, such as Tibia, Ragnarok and WoW, but in 2D, focusing on the gameplay and fun, not the graphic. Making something like a WOE (War of Emperium in Ragnarok, its like a guild war inside castles) is my biggest challenge.

Well, i'm open to make some friends, my Steam is (http://steamcommunity.com/id/yanzfroes/), if you want to talk message me or add me, we can talk from another app too! We can exchange some knowledge and I'll help what I can and we can develop together, code/develop alone is not a fun thing.

As i didnt find any chat here, just the message and forum, i will make a suggestion. In the world of entrepeneurship and startups, we use a program called Slack (https://slack.com/is) , its a good way to talk and make project together, develop together, know what people are achieving. Maybe we could make a team over there, I believe it's a good tool for creating tutorials together and share knowledge.  ;)

And it's a pleasure to meet you all!!;D

Att.

Hi @SonicMicro234, welcome to AGD. Please take a moment to look over our site Rules (http://ascensiongamedev.com/community/rules/).

Basic rules are refraining from going off topic in posts (this is just a welcome thread, not so much for Q&A). Secondly, we highly discourage multi-posting. Instead of posting twice in a row in a single topic you can edit previous posts to add extra thoughts like so: http://www.ascensiongamedev.com/resources/filehost/32af8f2f17bfe336494c1a73b7e9053f.mp4

We're glad you're here but during your stay please post Q&A in the appropriate boards and help us keep this place clean and easy to navigate.

Thanks,

JC

Hey, everyone. It's a pleasure to meet all of you. I'm Richard, and I'm 24 years old majoring in Software Development. I'm currently working as an IT Specialist for Marriott Hotels. I'm going to be graduating with a degree in Software Development in a few weeks and I'm pretty excited to have a job that is already putting my skills to use. I can work with quite a few programming languages, C#, Visual Basic.Net, VB6, HTML5, CSS, PHP, SQL, Java, C++.  My coursework in school has gotten me a pretty decent exposure to them.

I've been around since the Mirage Source days, but I've never actually been active in any community.  I remember Shannara and Kael, probably some names that haven't been seen around here since the PlayerWorld days. After moving from PlayerWorlds, I did some game work with Elysium when Pingu was still active and later moved to Eclipse and XtremeWorlds. I was there before Robin made Origins, and eventually used Origins for a few of my projects.  I watched the beginning and end of a few eras without actually participating in the community, but I've always loved the engines and they sparked my passion for programming and eventually IT.

This time around, I'm hoping to be active in the community and do my part to contribute. I'm getting handier with pixel art, and photoshop, which is probably the best way to contribute here until source releases. I'm also working on a project which I will show off at some point, but right now it's in its planning stages. I think Intersect is going to be something special, and I feel more confident in my abilities to be able to contribute to the community. Happy developing, everyone!

Hi Ascension Game Dev community!

My name is Will, 31 years old, & I have been making games for about 10 years (mods for 15 years). I most recently worked at Deep Silver Volition where I was an Agent Gameplay Designer on Agents of Mayhem, using Volition's proprietary technology to both design agents' combat kits and implement them (I was a gameplay programmer half of the time, really). I've worked on mobile games, simulations, AAA, and tons of modding / side projects since around 2002 (Warcraft III was my first modding kit). I currently work heavily in both Unity and Unreal 4 as my two main sources of income these days, but am joining this community because I would love to get a passion project of mine off of the ground with the Intersect Engine. Maybe there'll be some collaboration in the near future among us. :)

I have kept my eye on this community off and on throughout the years, poking at Eclipse here and there. I have always wanted to work with a 2D mmorpg game engine, but none seemed to be mature enough for me to really dive in. I just discovered this community about a week ago, so I'm really excited to meet many of you, check out this newer engine written in C#, and hopefully add some sort of contribution moving forward. I currently teach game design on the undergraduate level & work for a VR start-up.

Please feel free to introduce yourself via PM. I think we have a lot of potential here! Thanks for having me!
