How to use Z-Dimensions

17 posts in this topic

My question is, why couldn't you use regular blocks on the cliff, essentially wouldn't all you need to do is the z dimensions so you can't get off the bridge, and so you can walk ON it and UNDER it, or am I missing something?

You can use regular blocks for the cliff, I personally do so using those graphics for Nightmare however i wanted to give an example of different tiles where you do walk on the cliff edges. Refer to the rpg maker cliffs.

@yeroC If you use regular blocks for cliffs there is going to be tiles that a player cannot access. So either the outer most squares inside the cliff will not be able to be walked on, or the grass surrounding the cliff below. This allows for every tile to be accessed while still blocking tiles and not allowing players to just walk off or on cliffs. So it does do more than the bridge thing. We used to overcome this problem in eclipse with the directional blocking. This is what they chose to solve this sort of issue instead.

I want to know if you have a dimension option for monsters. Because I created a level up and put the monster on. But the monster is not in size up. I hope I was specific. thank you.

I got a question, maybe a n00b question.

I did the z dimension and it works ok.

But how you managed to pass under the bridge when level 1 and over the bridge when level 2? I can only pass under or over, because of the Layer i put the Tiles.

Tnx

Level 1 players render under fringe 1 and 2. Level 2 players only render under fringe 2. TLDR make your layer for your bridge fringe.
