  1. Hi hi, I was curious to know if it was possible to run Intersect on a NAS... for Intersect Server, Updater and Launcher. And if later maybe, adding PHP/MySQL support for id authentification and interaction with data (virtual money for exemple) via website. I know, this is too much but i'm thinking about that possibility and curious to know if that is compatible. (i don't have a NAS)

It does not appear that your game is accessible to the outside world. Debugging Steps (To allow public access): 1. Firewalls might be blocking connections to your server. Check firewalls on your system. (i.e. iptables, FirewallD, Windows Firewall) 2. Antivirus programs might also be blocking connections and you may need to add Intersect Server.exe to your antivirus exclusions. 3. If on a college campus, or within a business network you likely do not have permission to open ports or host games in which case you are screwed! It appears that UPnP Failed. Your might need to enable UPnP on your router or manually port forward to allow connections to your server.   4. "When your server tells you that it is accessible, it will also tell you the PUBLIC_IP address and port that your client and editor need in order to connect. Open the Client & Editor/Resources/config.xml file and input your public ip into the host field and SERVER_PORT into the port field." Where is "the host field"? I have a picture of my settings, I can't figure out where to input my public ip. The server does also claim that it works, and that I merely need to input my public ip. So it's all that I need to figure out.
  5. I added a server to the exception in the antivirus, and in the Windows firewall, I use the service noip, I myself do not understand much about all this, I did everything according to the lessons of others

If you are running one of the following: CentOS 7 without kernel updates in September CentOS 6 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 or lower Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Debian-based (i.e. Ubuntu) Server/LTS distros (I don't know specifics here) There is a super user elevation exploit that is most likely not patched on your system. If you are using CentOS 7 update your kernel now If you are using RHEL 7 update to 7.4 if you haven't already. If you are using RHEL or CentOS 6 install any updates you have available pertaining to the kernel and research online to see if you are covered or if the fix has yet to be made readily available. If you are using Debian-based distros look online to get more information and make sure to install any available kernel updates regardless of whether you find information (unless that information says that the latest updates contains this vulnerability, which I would think it should not but who knows).

  8. Hello All, I have an odd issue that I am struggling to figure out. Issue: Every 10 to 50 seconds, the Editor and/or Client will disconnect from the server. In the error logs for the Client/Editor, the following statements are logged: 2017-08-24 04:11:59.449 [Info] Connecting to DNSNAME:5400... 2017-08-24 04:12:00.174 [Warn] WarningMessage: Received unhandled library message Ping from IPADDRESS:5400 2017-08-24 04:12:00.231 [Info] Connection approved [00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000]. 2017-08-24 04:12:00.237 [Info] Connected [00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000]. 2017-08-24 04:14:29.667 [Info] Disconnected [00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000]. Please note, DNS name and Ip address were omitted from the logs. Background info: Up until 4.1, I was successfully hosting my game and connecting in version 3.1. After the upgrade is when the issue started. Port is set to 5400. UPnP automatically port forwards and the issue happens. I have tried disabling UPnP on my router and manually creating the Port Forward rules with the same issue occurring. When connecting to my server, I am connecting from a different machine. The server is hosted within the same LAN as the computer I am connecting from. However, the server is being accessed through a NO-IP hostname. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions on what I should try? I realize it may be difficult to determine the cause. The only change in my setup was the upgrade, so I feel there may be a configuration I am not seeing within the server that could cause this or perhaps the client/editor. Thank you!
  9. Hey ho, once again. So, I've been doin' around and I was able to manually make accounts and bound all information to them, however I'd like to that via the PHP and open SQLite connection, integrate all the data I need and then just jump out of it. However, as I found no information concerning if it's possible I came to conclusion that it just is(If I can edit something manually I should not have problem doing it automically right?) so my only concern would be A ) stability if I make website and PHP connect to the running server would engine be able to handle it? (I know it edits the database live, but I am not changing values just adding new information, at least for now) B ) salt generation, and while I understand that the currently engine is NOT open sourced but perhaps it could be said how does algorithm look or just how to replicate it? (I have no idea about encription so i am green as leaf here) So I have website, that can handle input, passes it onto PHP which connect to the database and injects it into the server's database so in theory if I connect all the information rightly I should have no problem running it? Or am I missing something big again?
  10. Hello Ascension Community! So I have a question that I don't think I've seen asked before. Does anyone have an ideal/preferred place to host your server? An example would be Digital Ocean. I ask because I am nearing the point of the alpha for my project and think it is time to start looking for some reliable places to host my server.
  11. Hi, I've been playing around making levels all day and then after the server crashed tried to restart it only for it to tell me that it can't start and to look into the error txt file. Here is the full error file the server is giving me back and quite frankly I have no idea where to start with this. If my server has been open for more than a few hours, It begins to collect empty "online" slots in the OnlineList, recently - every time I check in the morning it shows there are like 680 people online and 679 of them are empty slots.... Is this normal? I'm assuming I just need to reset the server to clear that cache or something? My server has only been up for 4 hours today and I already have 170 empty entries in the OnlineList
  13. Hello everyone, using Intersect Alpha 1.9 and have a question regarding the maximum amount of fields allowed for equipment. I have been messing around with the config.xml server side and added several fields to the equipment and paper doll fields.. However, when booting up the client and the editor it seems the game only recognizes up to six fields and it is as if the others do not exist. Does the engine currently only support six equipment types or did I screw something up? Also, if the engine does not will it support more in the future or is this something I'll have to manually change in the source once it is available for download?

  15. Hi, I've tried opening the server, but it asked for .net framework 4.5. I tried to install it but I can't since I have windows 7. I can't find anything on google to fix this issue. Basically, I can't do anything with Intersect because of my OS -_-' Anyone know how to fix this issue?
